
Deborah Gonzalez is currently an acquisitions and developmental editor for NavPress, specializing in Christian non-fiction. She has worked in book publishing for over a decade, spending eight years as a marketing manager for InterVarsity Press, followed by a couple years as a freelance book editor/collaborator. As a Mexican-American woman, she is especially passionate about editing and collaborating on projects by authors of color and increasing BIPOC representation in traditional publishing. She received a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University and a certificate in manuscript editing from the University of Chicago. She is originally from the U.S.-Mexico border town of Laredo, Texas, and currently resides in San Antonio with her husband and three kids.
