Mary Benard is the Editorial Director of Skinner House Books, the publishing imprint of the Unitarian Universalist Association. She holds a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia. She lives in the Boston area with her husband George Grattan and serves on the Board of WATCH CDC in Waltham, Massachusetts, a nonprofit that promotes immigrant rights and affordable housing. She is also active with SpeakOut Boston, a volunteer LGBTQ speaker’s bureau.
