Melynne Rust, a United Methodist minister, served as a university chaplain and a police chaplain prior to being called into creative writing as her ministerial vocation. In her work, she explores spiritual connections within our stories that nurture the good in ourselves and others. Melynne’s first book, Common Spaces Between Us, narrates her experiences as a college chaplain discovering her own biases as she seeks to connect with students.

Melynne lives on a barrier island off the east coast of Florida, where she enjoys walking in windy weather with her black lab, River.
