Naomi Krueger is an acquisitions editor at Beaming Books, where she acquires and develops books for children. Beaming Books is an imprint of 1517 Media, which is also home to Augsburg Fortress, Broadleaf Books, and Sparkhouse. Naomi has worked with 1517 Media in Minneapolis, Minnesota for nearly eight years, starting first with Sparkhouse as a Sunday school curriculum developer. As an acquisitions editor for Beaming Books, she is actively seeking agented submissions for picture books and middle grade nonfiction on topics and themes that help kids thrive socially, emotionally, and spiritually. She is particularly interested in submissions from BIPOC authors and illustrators and looking for books that speak to the diverse array of human experience. Prior to working in publishing, Naomi served in AmeriCorps at a refugee resettlement agency and worked at a local community newspaper. She has also volunteered on the board of an organization serving immigrants and refugees and on the leadership team of an urban, multiethnic church plant. She has a B.A. in journalism and reconciliation studies from Bethel University in Saint Paul. She lives in a suburb of Saint Paul with her husband and two young sons, who keep her busy with walks in the woods, playing dinosaurs, and reading a lot of picture books.
